Ringworm is a fungus - not a worm at all, and not a bacterium 鈥?so antibiotics will not work. You need an anti-fungal like Tinactin or Lotriman (spelling?). Ask a pharmacist.
And as to the 1st answer - antibiotics kill bacteria - NOT Viruses!!!! That's why you don't take antibiotics for colds (rhino virus) and flu (influenza virus)....Is there antibiotics that can clear ring worms? I have tried creams but it aint working to well.?
No you need an anti fungal, the same that you would use for athlete's foot. If it has not cleared you may need to ask the doctor for for a prescription.
add-- antibiotics kill bacteria, not viruses, those must run their course.
antibiotics will not kill ringworms, ringworms is a fungus and only anti-fungal cream will ask your pharmacist and see what they have without a prescription.
Try a cream called ketoconazole. Also known as Nizoral. You can only get it from the doctor and it works.
HAVE YOU TRIED AN ANTI-FUNGAL CREAM, IF YOU HAVEN'T THEN YOU NEED TO, GO TO THE PHARMACY AND GET THE STUFF THAT TREATS ATHLETE'S FOOT, ITS THE SAME KIND OF FUNGUS
Anitbiotics kill viruses so that would be a no. Go and ask a pharmacist at a chemist or see a doctor.
