Can an antibiotic cream at the drugstore be applied to dog or will I have to buy a special cream from the vet?

It depends on the ingredients. Dogs will naturally lick at their sores so they will lick off the cream. You need to make sure nothing in it is poisionous to dogs. Can an antibiotic cream at the drugstore be applied to dog or will I have to buy a special cream from the vet?
It depends on what's wrong with your dog. If it's a hot spot, you can use a drugstore brand like cort-aid. The best answer I can give is: call your vet now if you have a problem. Can an antibiotic cream at the drugstore be applied to dog or will I have to buy a special cream from the vet?
Regular drug store stuff is fine....but, if it's in a ';lickable' spot, it won't be there for long. Most dogs will just lick it right off, so you will have to wrap it or put an e-collar on him.
Depends on what you are using the cream for. Some small cuts or abrasions can be treated with an over the counter antibiotic cream.
you can use antibiotics from a drug store but...

if any swelling redness pumps or any type of an allergic reaction take your doggie to the vet

probably wont but if it does
When my dog had sores my vet told me to use a store bought antibiotic, and it worked. So don't be tricked by people just trying to make money.
i am not sure you might want to ask your dog's vet just as a precaution
ask a drug store worker?
