Is it safe to put antibiotic cream inside a fish tank?

I recently cut my thumb open

it's currently healing and I want to clean my fish tank

is it safe to put a fresh (2 day old) cut in a fish tank

I have band aids (currently wearing one) but the white pad part has antibiotic cream on it. so if that seeps into the water will it kill the fish?

all my bandaids have antibiotic cream on them they come like that so there aren't different ones availableIs it safe to put antibiotic cream inside a fish tank?
I have no idea why all these people are telling you that it is not safe to put your hands in you tank. Then they all say to ware some gloves or put baggies over you hand. Not one person even said to wash your hand. I don't under stand why people think that the tiny amount of antibiotic on that band-aid is going to kill your fish. Not unless you have a very small tank. Now if you put a bottle of antibiotic in the water it would kill the fish. But the tiny amount that is on you small band-aid is not going to pollute your tank. All you need to do is wash you hand with some antibacterial hand soap. Make sure you rinse thoroughly. And ever thing will be just fine. After you finish cleaning your tank make sure to wash your hands again with the soap and put a fresh band-aid back on.Is it safe to put antibiotic cream inside a fish tank?
It's not a good idea. The human strength antibiotic can kill small fish. And if your cut has not sufficiently healed, you can be infected by the bacteria in the fish tank. If you can't cover your wound with a waterproof band aid, wear rubber gloves. If worse comes to worse and you can't find rubber gloves, stick your hands in plastic bags and rubberband at your wrists so nothing gets inside--it'll be clumsy not having your fingers able to do things but it's better then risking infection. Or you can probably duct tape the wound (over the bandage) and then try not to bend your finger too much so the tape won't gap letting the water in. Or you can condom your finger (and either rubber band the open end or tape the open end to your hand just so the water stays out. If you know someone who dyes their hair, usually hair dye comes with a free pair of plastic gloves you might be able to use. Don't use any rubber gloves that have been previously used for cleaning since cleaning products will kill your fish. Can you postpone cleaning your tank 'til tomorrow when you can run out and buy some rubber gloves (or waterproof bandaids)?
no it is not safe to do that, it could be affecting your fish now, depending on ur tank size it will spread to ur whole aquarium, if you have a small tank i would defintely either throw out all the water in it and start all over or try your best a do a big water change and hope nothing happens to your fish.
I'd be more concerned about crap in the fish tank getting into your cut than I would about the tiny amount of antibiotic ointment that's probably gone now entering the tank.

At least wear cheap latex gloves.
you could try wearing some rubber or latex gloves if you find ones long enough to where water wouldn't fill them up when you stick your hand and/or arm in the tank just to be on the safe side.
Yes, it will harm your fish and your bio filter.
Wear some gloves.
I would no do it.
